Dryopteris erythrosora is one of the best-known and best-loved Ferns with its orange-red, young spring fronds, which have red spores on the undersides. We thought no one could improve on this Fern. Then we saw Dryopteris erythrosora 'Brilliance.' The new growth of 'Brilliance' is a brighter red, and its coloring lasts longer. It's easy to grow and is surprisingly drought tolerant once established in a garden.
