Prunus avium ‘Ulster’
A cross between Schmidts and Lambert. The fruit is dark red, large and firm-fleshed. This sweet cherry is a mid-season variety that ripens just after Schmidts and is more resistant to cracking.
Montmorency Cherry
Montmorency tart cherries are classics. This variety is used to make dried cherries and is perfect for pies and jams. Dark, sweet cherries are great for fresh eating, but if you want to bake and preserve, you need something a little tart.
